Uniontown, OH, Combination Deck and 3-Season Room Meets Homeowners’ Needs Perfectly

Looking at this beautiful project, you can guess our recent clients in Uniontown, OH, don’t do anything half-way. When it came time to design their ideal outdoor living space, what they ordered was a top-of-the-line combination deck and 3-season room. What they got was an exquisite bi-level outdoor space they can use almost year-round, rain or shine.

Backyard three season room and deck

Making the most of their outdoor time is important to these Uniontown homeowners, as you can see. Deck and porch builder Archadeck of Akron was thrilled to work with them to create this dual-powered home addition. Like many homeowners, they wanted to be able to enjoy the outdoors and connect with nature regardless of season or weather conditions. Now, only the coldest days will drive them indoors.

Originally, these homeowners had a large deck off the back of their home. Archadeck of Akron removed the deck and rebuilt a portion in order to provide both the open air and conditioned all-season outdoor living space they desired.

Combining a Deck and 3-Season Room

If you’re finding it hard to choose between adding a deck, screened porch, or three-season room to your home, give Archadeck of Akron a call. We can help you weigh those options. We’re experts at helping you identify what’s most important to you and your family in an outdoor living space. Where will you enjoy spending the most time? What functions will your outdoor space need to serve?

Custom outdoor room

Sometimes a client comes to the conclusion that it will take more than one kind of structure to meet their family’s outdoor living needs. That’s when a combination outdoor space makes the most sense. When the weather is delightful, not too hot, not too cool, a deck is idyllic. Sitting outdoors in an uncovered space, feeling to the breeze and the sun’s warmth, watching bees and butterflies and hearing the sounds of nature … this is bliss.

Cozy three season room

When it’s a little too warm outside, you may prefer a roof’s protection from the sun’s rays without being cooped up indoors. That’s when you need a porch – preferably with a ceiling fan. When it’s raining, a roof will keep you dry while porch screens allow you to see and smell the pleasure of rain. When it’s cool enough to close the windows, that’s when a 3-season room lets you turn your “porch” into a protected space to keep out the cold.

When your combination outdoor living space includes a roofed structure – a covered porch, screened porch, or 3-season room – you’ll always find a way to connect with nature.

Wooden Deck and Wood-filled 3-Season Room

These homeowners in Uniontown, OH, prefer the look and feel of natural wood, and it shows. They chose pressure-treated pine for their natural wood deck, and visually this deck is a celebration of wood. The main deck area is free of railings because it’s low-to-grade, and all you see is wood. From the wide wooden steps on both sides of the deck, to the custom wood planters under a row of windows, the theme here is wood.

Step up to the deck’s second level and you’ll find more beautiful features in wood. On one side, wood railings provide safety, and vertical wood skirting hides the under-deck area. On the other side, custom wood planters match the deck’s skirting, and built-in (wood) bench seating provides a delightful conversation nook.

The adjacent three-season room is also a celebration of wood’s beauty with gorgeous hardwood floors and an exquisite poplar tongue-and-groove wood ceiling. The room is finished with sheetrock, but don’t mistake this for an interior room! The bank of windows overlooking the deck, and windows on either side of the porch, make it clear that screens will see heavy use during porch weather. Slide these windows open, and the room instantly becomes a screened porch!

Three season room ceiling with fan and lighting

Windows under the gable roof allow extra light into the area, as do the amazing lead glass doors on each side leading out to the deck. With a ceiling fan and recessed can lighting, the homeowners have brought their indoor comforts outdoors.
